In my works and collaborations I search for alternative histories – those that could have been. I seek out fragmented stories, and stitch them together – in hopes of offering new narrations. My focus ranges from the architecture of Red Vienna and the post-industrial era to denunciated ruins of contaminated landscapes of crime in Anatolia. I am also researching ancestral practices of dyeing textiles, collective stitching sessions, the tales of our grandmothers carried in their bags, and working-class cultures. My work shifts between tacit knowledge and epistemic frameworks, examining how ideology and the power structures shape our understanding of the past. Through large-scale spatial installations and essay films, I aim to create a dialogue with the audience, inviting them to participate in the collective experience where personal stories can belong to a grand narrative.
