6X6X6 Repeating Translations in any Order
Studio Brief: The SPACE is a volume of 6x6x6 meters to be made several times out of different materials at the scale of 1:20. (A cube 30X30X30 cm) The discovery of space and form will be made by different procedures of adding material and subtracting. The 6x6x6 has no orientation and its inside and outside will be defined in-turn with the techniques and capacities of the material worked on. There is a play between the scales of 1:1 and 1:20 while one is the actual scale of making an object in your hand, the other one is a scale one learns to think in. The understanding of the relationship of the two makes one conceptualize the space.
